William Russell Jr., 79, Richmondale, died Monday, August 26, 2024, at home. His wife is Dorothy Stana Russell.

Born in Manhattan NY, son of the late William and Mary Kellerman Russell Sr., he was a telephone frame man for Verizon. He was a big sports fan who enjoyed hockey and baseball especially watching the Little League World Series. He also enjoyed horse racing. He most cherished his time spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: a son, William Thomas Russell and his wife, Diane, NJ; a daughter, Jacqueline Ascani and husband, David, Bangor; four granddaughters, Brooke Russell; Madeline Russell, Celeena Caccavone and husband, Brian; Samantha Tomala and significant other, Brandon Barkley; a grandson, Beau Lamberton; three great grandsons, Cameron Tregaskis; Lincoln Stine; Dean Caccavone; a great grandaughter, Kennedy Caccavone.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Maurer.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 12 noon until 3 pm in Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale. A prayer service will be held at 2:45 pm. Cremation will follow. Online condolences may be sent to the funeral home website.
