Vincent A. Barrese, 85, of Mount Carmel, formerly of Carbondale, died Monday at Mount Carmel Senior Living Community. His wife is Loretta Barrese.

Born in Carbondale, son of the late Joseph and Bessie Santanna Barrese, he worked for 47 years at Gentex Corp.  Vincent cherished time spent with family, especially his grandchildren, and enjoyed playing cards.

Also surviving are two sons, Vince “Sonny” Barrese and wife, Carol, Carbondale; and Bruce Barrese, Mount Carmel; a daughter, Anne Noworski and husband, Al, Mount Carmel; four grandchildren, Mark Flederbach, Jason Flederbach, Cody Barrese and Monique Barrese; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Flederbach and Zackary Barrese; a sister, Rose Ledonne and husband, Andrew, New Jersey; several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by siblings, Anthony Barrese, John Barrese, Carmella Buonomo, Jeanette Bly and Lena Levite.

The funeral will be Friday from Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church. Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.

Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
