Theresa A. Rupp, 74, Carbondale, died Saturday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Her husband is Jerome “Jake” Rupp.

Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Onofrio and Lena Norella Guarneri, Theresa worked for the Carbondale Area School District’s cafeteria department for a number of years.

The family extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Kishori Veerabhadroppa, medical oncologist for her compassion and caring understanding also Theresa Mecknick for all her care.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by: a son, J.R. Rupp and wife, Lori, Davenport, Florida; two step-grandchildren, Monica and Nicole Moore; a brother, Anthony Guarneri and wife, Lillian, Carbondale; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Guarneri and a sister, Vita Collura.

The funeral will be Wednesday with Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Carbondale. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.

The family will receive friends at church from 9 a.m. until Mass time.
