Stephen P. Gallinot, 75, Carbondale, died Wednesday at Carbondale Nursing Home and Rehabiltitation Center.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late Carl and Eleanor Petrous Gallinot, he was a foreman at Glass Products before retirement. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran. Steve was a former assistant coach in the Carbondale Area Chargers and Jr. Chargers football programs.
Steve enjoyed going to Pinky’s Restaurant and loved spending time in the Carbondale Park having conversation with people. He was a fan of all sports and an avid sports card collector.
Surviving are: two daughters, Christine Apostolico and husband, Nick, Jermyn; Michelle Cerra and husband Gary, Carbondale Twp.; three grandchildren, Nathan Smith, Jermyn; Nikolas Apostolico, Jermyn; Joselyn Cerra, Carbondale Twp.; a great grandchild, Amelia Apostolico; a brother, Richard Gallinot and wife, JoEllen Gallinot, Elysburg; a special sister-in-law, Mary Carol Snyder; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom Gallinot; Kevin Gallinot; a sister, Joann Clemo.
The family thanks the Carbondale Nursing Home staff especially Lynda Cantarella.
As per Steve’s request, no services will be held. Arrangements by Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 2 Hospital St. Carbondale. Online condolences may be sent to the funeral home website.
