It is with great sadness, Rosemary Greco passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2026. She was an extraordinary woman who spent 50 years of her life as a hairdresser, bringing both beauty and joy to her clients, most of whom were also her childhood friends.
As a mother she chose to do without the niceties we take for granted such as new cars and fancy clothes so that her two sons would be able to obtain the education she thought they deserved. Also, she had the uncanny skill of always trying to find the best in each person, never speaking, ill of anyone; trying to find some good in people and situations that others could not.
She also loved her two dogs, Petey and then Joey, whom pretty much became her 2 other “sons”. She would walk Joey daily well into her 90’s as well as cooking meals for each every day because “dog food is not good for them”.
As a grandmother she would frequently tell her grandchildren “I’m striving to die broke” She tried to fulfill their every wish, and with ‘Nani’ anything and everything was possible. More than getting them what they wanted, it was the knowledge that every trip with Nani would be an adventure, maybe a bit of spoiling that most parents would avoid, but a wonderful part of what makes childhood so special. Knowing someone’s happiness comes from seeing that you are happy too.
Luckily, one day before she passed her grandchildren were able to come and visit with her and reminisce.
She was an extremely special person who brought joy into the lives of All she met. Mom, I’m glad you don’t have to suffer anymore but we miss you more than words can say. Say hello to dad for me.
