Ralph D. Grizzanti, 77, Carbondale, died Wednesday at Regional Hospital, Scranton. His wife is the former Carol Oncavage. They were married for 50 years.

Born in Carbondale, son of the late Samuel and Nancy Penzone Grizzanti, Ralph worked for many years in sales at Sugarman’s (Eynon) and Lustig’s Furniture. He served in the National Guard for 10 years. Ralph was also a member of the BLEN-DELLS, a regional doo-wop group of the 1960s.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Ralph D. Grizzanti Jr., Carbondale; three brothers, Joseph Grizzanti and wife, Veronica, Greenfield Twp.; Samuel Grizzanti and wife, Rosemary, Carbondale; and James Grizzanti and wife, Sally, Carbondale; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Caffrey.

The funeral was held Monday, January 22, 2018, from Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
