Paul J. Wentovich, 77, of Mayfield, passed away Tuesday evening at Carbondale Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rosalie “Rosie” J. (Fazio) Wentovich.
Born in Forest City, son of the late Paul and Marion (Bilko) Wentovich, Paul was a graduate of Lakeland High School and Lackawanna College. A proud United States Navy veteran, he worked for Grumman Olson before retiring from Lackawanna County’s Information Technology Department. He was a devoted member of Christ the King Parish, St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Archbald, and a longtime member of Mayfield’s American Legion.
Paul had a generous spirit. He enjoyed gardening, Penn State football, food, and treasured time spent with family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Frances Lezinski, Clarks Summit; sister-in-law, Frances Wentovich, Jessup; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a great-great niece. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Wentovich, and brother-in-law, William Lezinski.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Parish, St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 429 Church St., Archbald. Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, 1708 Oram St., Scranton.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale. Online condolences may be made at the funeral home’s website.
In honor of Paul’s legacy of giving, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
