Michele Prebich

Michele M. Prebich, 65, of Carbondale, passed away peacefully on Thursday, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband, Joseph Prebich, preceded her in death in March 2025.

Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Anthony and Helen Manarchuck Norella, Michele was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a selfless person who always took care of everyone else — the one her family and friends could depend on no matter what. She had a tough exterior but the kindest heart, and her strength and compassion carried those she loved through life’s hardest moments.

Surviving are: a son, Daniel Prebich, Pine Grove Mills; a daughter, Angelia Prebich, Warwick, RI; grandchildren, Emma and Autumn Prebich; loving siblings, Francis Norella and wife, Betty, Carbondale; Kristina Coolican and husband, Kevin, Carbondale; and Justin Norella, Carbondale; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and in-laws.

The funeral will be Monday, November 10, from Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary’s St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. Cremation will follow.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 9, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to the funeral home website.
