MaryAnn Durkin, 84, formerly of Carbondale, died Saturday at Forest City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Simpson, daughter of the late William and Anna Holowach, MaryAnn enjoyed raising her boys and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed talking on the phone with her friends. The family thanks the Forest City Nursing Home staff for the professional care.

Surviving are: a daughter-in-law, Desiree Durkin, Carbondale; three grandsons, Kyle, Keegan and Scott; and a granddaughter, Meghan. She was preceded in death by three sons, Matthew, David and Joseph Durkin; and her late former husband, Matthew Durkin.

The funeral will be Wednesday from Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Twp. A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Online condolences may be sent to the funeral home website
