Mary Alice Mitteer, 62, Carbondale, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023, at home.  Her longtime companion is David Kane.

Born in New Jersey, daughter of the late David Griffiths and Mary Alice Rogers, she was a popular cook and bartender at Sisko’s Café, Carbondale. She enjoyed her flowers at home.  She had a true love and affection for her grandchildren.  They were her world.  She will be deeply missed.

In addition to her longtime companion, Dave, she is survived by her two children, Zander Mitteer, Endicott, New York; and Jason Mitteer, Lake Orion, Michigan; 1 sister: Diane Ruddy, Scranton, Pennsylvania; 4 grandchildren: Mena, Jillian, Kristen, and Cody; with 1 additional grandchild on the way, Baby Z; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Griffiths; and a sister, Rose Howey.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, from 4-7 p.m. at Sisko’s Café in Carbondale.
