Mary E. Mancuso, 96, Carbondale died Monday at Regional Hospital, Scranton. Her husband of 61 years was the late Santo “Lefty” Mancuso who died September 10, 2009.

Born in Pittsburgh, she was the first American born child of Italian immigrants, Silvio and Lucia Tiogo Garbin,

Mary was proud to be a stay at home mom who was devoted to her family.

Surviving are daughters, Shirley (Barry) Gill, Honesdale; Roz (Rick) Pensler, Huntersville NC; Luci (Dan) Larkin, Carbondale; and Sandra (Terry) Hurst, Clarks Summit; a son, David (Peggy) Mancuso, Carbondale Twp.; a brother, Joseph (Mary Ann) Garbin, Clarks Summit; eight grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Mancuso; a son-in-law, Ronnie Mason; grandson, Danny Hodorawis; infant great granddaughter, Cloe’ Floyd; sisters, Antoinette Gesiotto, Edith Garbin and Gloria Miller.

The funeral was held on Saturday, January 27, 2018, from Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 2 Hospital St., Carbondale with Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.

A viewing was held on Friday, January 26, 2018, from 4 pm until 7 pm.
