Mary Jane Bandru, 86, Greenfield Twp., died Sunday at home. Her husband of 58 years was the late Theodore Bandru, who died April 16, 2012.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Charles and Bridget Theresa Boyle Rogers, she worked at Scranton Lace Works and was a member of the Irish Balladeers. She loved crossword puzzles, dancing and most of all, spending time with her large family.
Surviving are 15 children, Karen Miklos and husband, John, Scranton; Theodore Jr., Carbondale Twp.; Michael and wife, Rose, Downingtown; Maureen, Greenfield Twp.; Charles, Carbondale; Kevin and wife, Stephanie, South Abington Twp.; Brian and wife, Carm, Uniondale; Mary Ellen Scott and husband, David, Ghent, N.Y.; Patricia and husband, Caleb, Greenfield Twp.; Sean, Blakely; Robert, Clifford; Daniel and wife, Clarise, South Abington Twp.; Erin Carroll and husband, Alan, Mayfield; Bridget Norkaitis and husband, John, Swoyersville; and Shannon Laylo and husband, Raynard, Oak Lawn, Ill.; 29 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Rogers, Childs; and John Rogers, Pittsburgh; a sister, Theresa Pacini, Mayfield; several nieces and nephews; and many family friends she considered her own children.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Rogers; and a sister, Margaret Ann Kelminski.
The funeral will be Thursday from Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church, St. John Vianney Parish, Montdale. Cremation to follow.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Masks and social distancing are required.
