Leslie “Georgia” Edwards, 66, Carbondale, died Sunday at Geisinger Community Medical Center after a courageous year-long battle with cancer.

Born in Liberty N.Y., daughter of the late Kenneth and Patricia Ackerly Edwards, Leslie opened her home to everyone. She loved animals especially her dog, Selena.

Survivors include a son, Todd Edwards and wife, Amy, Virginia; a grandson, Todd William Edwards; a brother, Keith Edwards, Clifford; two sisters, Crystal Oliviera, Forest City; Dixie Lowitz, New York.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Edwards; a sister, Candice Edwards.

The family will receive family and friends on Monday from 11 a.m. until noon in Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale. Interment at a future date
