Karen Lynn Saylock

Karen Lynn Saylock, 63, Old Forge, passed away on the morning of Tuesday March 3rd 2026.

Since birth in Passaic, NJ on December 22nd 1962, she was a light in the lives of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She worked in many industries throughout her life. She enjoyed being a line cook but even more enjoyed being a caregiver for Moravia Health, taking care of her daughter. She always put everyone before herself and wasn't afraid to speak her mind. She cherished her time with her family and her grandchildren more than anything. She enjoyed singing, bingo, card games, family dinners and spending time with her best friend Lisa Descoteaux.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Saylock, Old Forge; her daughter, Tabetha Saylock, Old Forge, and Tabetha's fiance’ Matthew Connolly, Throop; her son, Cody Black, Carbondale, his partner, Amy Wolsiffer; her grandchildren, Jayden Black, Alana Black, and Annabella Black, all of Carbondale; her brother, David Black; her niece Taylor Black; her nephew Alex Black, all of Jermyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold F. Black Jr. and Geraldine Corrigan Black; her brothers, Harold F. Black III and Bernard Black.

The funeral will be Monday from Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Parish’s St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church St., Carbondale. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.

A viewing will be held on Sunday from 4 pm until 7 pm in the funeral home.
