Karen Loomis, 72, Jefferson Township, died Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Geisinger Community Medical, Scranton.  Her husband, the late Stephen Loomis, died in 2014.

Born in Carbondale as Patricia “Karen” Peskur, daughter of the late John and Mary (Soltus) Peskur, she was a 1969 graduate of Forest City Regional High School and auxiliary member of the American Legion, Dickson City.  Karen was a devoted Nana to all 5 of her grandchildren.  Her family was her whole entire world.  The friendships she had, she held them all near and dear to her heart.

Karen’s survivors include two children: Stephen Loomis (Ryan Tate) and Jean Marie Loomis; 5 grandchildren, Shaun Tate (Harley), John Loomis, Donovin Loomis, Eric Loomis, and Callyn Mae Loomis; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, John and Mary (Soltus) Peskur, she was preceded in death by her uncle, Michael Soltus.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 03, 2024, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale.
