Joseph Zaccone

Joseph Zaccone, 75, Fell Twp., died Wednesday September 9th at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. His wife was the late Maria A. Lynch Zaccone.

Born in Carbondale, son of the late Francesco and Jeanette Cerra Zaccone, he cherished time spent with his grandchildren; was a member of the International Plastic Modelers Association; an avid NASCAR fan; and a fan of the NY Jets and Penn State. He was a 1969 graduate of Carbondale Benjamin Franklin High School. He served in the National Guard 109th Infantry.

He is survived by: two daughters, Maura Mark, Carbondale; Joanna Wells, King George Va.; a son, Frank Zaccone and wife, Nicole, Carbondale; eight grandchildren, Joey, Gia and Ava Mark; Maddie, Nick and Margo Zaccone; Brian and Zac Wells; numerous cousins. 

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Brian Wells.

The funeral will be Saturday, September 19, 2026, with Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Carbondale (Our Lady of the Rosary Parish) at 9:30 a.m.. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.

The family will receive friends at the church from 8:30 a.m. until Mass time.
