Joseph A. Potis, 75, of Scranton, formerly of Carbondale, died Monday at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton. His wife is Ann Brown Potis.
Born in Carbondale, son of the late Anthony and Teresa Gillette Potis, he was a laborer for Union Local 130 for more than 50 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going for walks, hunting and fishing.
Surviving are two sons, Anthony Potis, Carbondale; and David Potis and Sharon Rusek, Clifford Twp.; a daughter, Tammy Potis, Deptford, N.J.; and six grandchildren, Joseph, Jami, Justin and Tressa Potis, Luke and Matteo Zarrilli.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Twp.
