John M. Totski

John M. Totski, 57, Simpson, died Thursday at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.

Born in Carbondale, son of the late John and Mary Anne Bednarczyk Totski, he worked at Pleasant Mount Welding Inc. (PMWI), Carbondale.

John loved music and was an avid record collector. His favorite bands were The Who and Blue Oyster Cult. He had a big heart and would do anything for anyone.

Surviving are a daughter, Jessica Totski and partner, Michael, New York; son, John Totski, New York; sister, Anne Shollock and husband, David, Vandling; nephews, David Shollock and wife, Courtney, Devon; Kyle Shollock and wife, Ashley, Arizona; several cousins, his former wife, Michelle Totski; and his companion, Doreen.

The family extends a thank you to the Geisinger Community Medical Center staff especially the ER doctors, nurses and clergy who took care of John. Special thanks to Dr. Ochieng and nurse, Veronica.

The funeral will be Friday from Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale, with Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Simpson. Cremation to follow. Interment at a future date in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Simpson.

A viewing will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
