Jo-Ann Jones Howells, Carbondale, passed away on October 8th due to heart complications.
Jo-Ann is the daughter of Peter and Victoria Davis. She is survived by two sons, Michael Howells and fiancé Brianna Casey, and Casey Howells, a grandson, Hunter Howells, and a step-son, Cody Banks. Her siblings, Danielle Jones, Tracy Sanderson (Brian Smith), Jeffrey Jones, Amanda Ashby (Bobby), and Peter Davis Jr (Alexis Starkweather), nieces and nephews, Alexa Cragle (Matthew), MaKena Sanderson (Jacob Ulmer), Decklan Jones, Ian Dzielak, Kaleigh Becker, Jordan Ashby, Elena Ashby, Kaia Davis, Kierra Davis, Keegan Davis, and a great niece, Delaney Cragle. A Paternal Grandfather, Walter Davis, many beloved Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, and a half sister, Marie Crespo.
She was preceded in death by her Paternal Grandmother, Joan Davis, a niece, Brooke Davis, and her best friend, Nikki Bartosavage.
Jo-Ann was an amazing human being. She’d give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. Please remember her kind and loving heart.
The family would like to thank Cottage Hose Ambulance and EMTs, especially Crissie Hobbs who worked painstakingly to save Jo-Ann, and who has been her very good friend since childhood, and the staff of Regional Hospital.
The funeral will be Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 6 N. Church St., Carbondale. Interment will be held at a future date.
