Helen Bitting

Helen Bitting, 70, Scranton, died Thursday, July 30 at her residence.

Born in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Patrick and Helen M. Brown Donohue, she worked for many years as a nurses’ aide. She enjoyed antiquing and motorcycle riding. She was a member of a number of motorcycle clubs through the years as was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan.

Helen is survived by a daughter, Heather Simons, Clifford Twp.; a son, Joshua Boris, Carbondale; grandchildren, Draven, Zaiden and Peyten Simons; a sister, Katie Pelak, Mayfield; two nephews, Christopher and Matthew Pelak. She was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick Donahue; a daughter, Rebecca Boris.

The family will hold a private gathering at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 2 Hospital St., Carbondale.
