George Marak, 55, Scranton, died Tuesday at Regional Hospital, Scranton.

Born in Astoria NY, son of the late Olga Marack, he worked in the construction industry and food industry during his lifetime. He was a gourmet cook. George was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and NY Giants. George had a special bond and friendship with Heidi LaVolpe; Darryl and Carolina Wormuth; Danielle and Rob Wenzler; Judy O’Connor; Donna Potis; Debbie and the late Ed Bognatz, who George called Uncle Ed; Diane and Richard Taylor, NM.

He also had many friends who will remember him as a hard worker and a person who loved life and brought smiles to those who knew him. He was a kind person.

He is survived by a son, George Marak Jr., Carbondale and his recent caregiver, Judy O’Connor, Carbondale.

Friends may call on Sunday, March 6 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. 2 Hospital St., Carbondale.
