Darrell Settles, 73, Carbondale, died Wednesday at home. His wife is Sheryl Kulak Settles.

Born in Los Angeles, Ca., he was a Marine Corps veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Darrell loved Jesus and his family. He enjoyed working as a chef.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: sons, Darrell Settles Jr., Washington; Raymond Settles, Carbondale; daughters, Tevia Rossetti, Carbondale; Dorothy Settles, Archbald; Marjorie Anderson, Archbald; a step-daughter, Helen Mahoneg, California; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Michael Settles, California; a daughter-in-law, Kristina Fox, Carbondale; nephews, Terry Woodward and Gilbert Sanchez, California. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Settles; a sister, Marjorie Woodward; a son-in-law, Timothy Rossetti.

A family Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
