Cheryl Ann Schofield, 61, Clarks Summit, formerly of Carbondale, died Wednesday at Regional Hospital, Scranton. Her husband is Martin Schofield Sr.
Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Anthony J. and Marie DeFazio Barrese Sr., she was a Carbondale Area graduate, where she was a featured baton twirler, and attended Penn State University. Cheryl Ann loved cooking and baking Italian dishes and goodies.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Martin Schofield Jr., Pottstown; four brothers, Joseph F. Barrese and wife, Mary, Pottstown; Anthony J. Barrese Jr. and wife, Elaine, Jermyn; Ralph Barrese and wife, Nancy, Rhode Island; Ray Barrese and wife, Sue, Carbondale; a sister, Maria Bradley and husband, James, Carbondale; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Francis.
A Mass of Christian Burial by the Rev. Jeffrey Walsh was held in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Interment followed at Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Twp.
