Charles W. Dorne, 79, Carbondale, died Friday at Allied Skilled Nursing Center, Scranton. His wife was the late Florence Van Riper.

Born in Wanaque, New Jersey, son of the late Charles S. and Helen Conklin Dorne, he spent many years in construction (roofing). He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are: a daughter, Karen Tartar, Carbondale; a brother, John Dorne and his wife, Kathy, New Jersey; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Stephen Dorne and a sister, Emma Harty.

Inurnment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in the near future.

Arrangements by Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale.
