Carmella Bonacci, 100, Carbondale, died Wednesday at Carbondale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa Molinaro Bonacci, she was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale.
Carmella enjoyed going to the original Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons games with her sister and brother, as well as spending time with her family and friends.
The family extends their sincere appreciation to Visiting Nurses Association, Carbondale Nursing Home Staff for their comforting care, where she recently celebrated her 100th birthday, Mark and Lisa Emmett, Diane Byrne (her caretaker), Mary Anne Langan (her neighbor and dear friend), as well as Dr. Neal Davis and Dr. Phillip Horne for their compassionate care throughout the years.
Surviving are niece, Joanne Cacossa, Florida; nephew, Peter Cacossa, Virginia; and great-nephew, Peter J. Cacossa, California. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Basil and Francis Bonacci; and two sisters, Angela Cacossa and Ann Bonacci.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Carbondale. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until Mass time at the church.
