Beverly Becker

Beverly Jean (Fitzmorris) Becker, 85, of Forest City, passed away peacefully on Friday at Allied Services Hospice Unit in Scranton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Becker, who passed away in 2017.

Born in New Orleans, she was the daughter of the late Alton and Frances (Koss) Fitzmorris. Beverly proudly served her country as a veteran of the United States Navy, a role she carried with quiet strength and dignity throughout her life.

Beverly found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid reader, a loyal viewer of Jeopardy!, and enjoyed watching cooking shows. She cherished time spent with her family and will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and steady presence.

She is survived by her five children: Joseph Becker and his wife, Brenda, of Carbondale; Donald Becker and his wife, Beth, of Ocala, Florida; Catherine Becker, of Old Forge; Steven Becker, of Archbald; and Brenda Pearsall and her husband, Edward, of Forest City. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Joseph and Brant Becker; Jacob, Carmyn, and Cassandra Becker; Jonna Carden; and Erin Pearsall; as well as ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Pat Fitzmorris and Audrey Core.

In keeping with Beverly’s wishes, services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 74 North Main Street, Carbondale.
