Anthony J. Scalzo, 90, of Carbondale, died Thursday at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.

Born in Carbondale, son of the late Samuel and Domenica Poletto Scalzo, he was an United States Air Force veteran. He worked for a number of years for Carbondale’s DPW.

Surviving are a brother, Joseph, Carbondale; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard Scalzo and Jerome Scalzo; and a sister, Theresa Tarhanick.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Interment, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery.
