Alan Gardner, 67, Lake Ariel, died Sunday at Geisinger CMC Scranton, after an illness.  His wife is the former Cindy Drake.

Born in Corning, New York, son of the late Monroe Leonard and Edith Mae (O’Dell) Gardner, he was a talented auto mechanic.  An avid hunter who also enjoyed salmon fishing in upstate New York, he frequently restored old Chevy trucks. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friends. He will be deeply missed.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Geisinger Community Medical Center for their exceptional care of Alan in his final hours, especially Cassidy.

In addition to his wife, Cindy, he is survived by 5 children, Joy House, Wayne NY; Jason Gardner and his wife Trish, Wilkes Barre PA; James Gardner and his girlfriend Fran, Cameron NY; Monroe Gardner and his wife Krystal, Forest City PA; and Jessica Gardner, Carbondale PA; a brother, Daryle Gardner and his wife Jean, Millerton PA; 10 grandchildren: Jon, Kenny, Julia, Joel, Brenden, Savannah, Kiley, Delaney, Kamryn, and Peytan; 1 great-grandson, Oakland; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Rosanna Carl and Janet Stiles; 1 brother, Hazen Gardner.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
